General Construction Installer

Cennox is a global corporation currently seeking General Construction Installer in the Portland, OR area. The General Construction Installer position resides within the Cennox Projects Division. At Cennox, we design, install, service, and monitor electronic security systems that integrate intrusion, fire, video surveillance, access control, and monitoring applications. Position Summary:

The General Construction Installer is responsible for various asset installation throughout the Pacific Northwest. General construction knowledge is highly recommended, and the position occasionally requires long-distance travel with overnight stays.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive and operate box truck, pallet jack, forklift, and other large equipment
  • Operate general hand and power tools required for each installation
  • Assemble and install rigging gear (cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, etc.) to safely lift, lower, move and position various equipment
  • Determine the most effective process and equipment for lifting objects based on size and weight
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain rigging equipment
  • Perform heavy lifting and hauling necessary to complete installations
  • Communicate and explain job details to the installation team
  • Interact with clients in a positive and professional manner
  • Maintain composure under pressure and troubleshoot problems
  • Travel to installation sites as required; occasionally including long-distance, overnight stays
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Candidates must be comfortable working with computers and email
  • General construction knowledge highly recommended (stucco, framing, concrete)
  • Experience in carpentry or construction
  • Dependable and organized when working independently
  • Ability to use standard power tools and drive a forklift
  • Ability to safely push/pull heavy equipment
  • Ability to drive a box truck long distances which require several overnight stays per week
  • Ability to work flexible hours; nights and weekends occasionally
  • Ability to work safely with minimal supervision
  • High and low voltage knowledge is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to work indoors and outside (including during in-climate weather)
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to sit and drive a vehicle with extensive travel
  • Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and reach freely
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
